Remember when you were a kid and you had to do that experiment where you made salt or sugar water, then hung a string in it to make crystals on the string? That experiment is happening right now with my floor mat.
Basically, there's tons of snow here in Wisconsin, and lots of salt gets dumped on the roads. Even though I kick my boots off when I get in my Jeep, snow, slush, and water gets tracked in, it melts, the salt water seeps into the mat, and then it evaporates, leaving behind this beautiful salt-encrusted floor mat.

You should get a new mat every winter just to keep them as souvenirs.

I'm glad we don't salt.
So instead of my interior mats looking like salty shit, they just look like shit.
